Know The Difference
14K Gold-Filled
Gold-filled isn’t “filled” with gold the way it sounds-it’s actually layers of real 14K gold bonded to a high-quality base metal. To be called gold-filled, it must contain at least 5% real gold, which is significantly more than gold-plated jewelry.
Because of this, gold-filled pieces are made to last. They won’t flake or peel and are much more resistant to tarnishing-so you get that beautiful gold look, with durability you can count on.
Sterling Silver
Sterling silver is a genuine, high-quality metal, but it naturally reacts with air and everyday elements, which can cause it to tarnish over time. Some body chemistries cause more tarnishing than others. Things like water, sweat, and certain chemicals can speed this up.
The good news is it’s easy to maintain. A quick polish with a soft cloth will restore its shine, and storing your pieces in a dry, airtight space when you’re not wearing them will help keep them looking their best.
Stainless Steel
Stainless steel is known for its strength, durability, and resistance to tarnishing. It does not easily rust, fade, or discolor, making it a great option for everyday wear-even with regular exposure to water.
This material is more scratch-resistant than many other metals and holds its shine with very little upkeep. It’s also a great choice for those with sensitive skin, as it is generally hypoallergenic.
While stainless steel is very low maintenance, we still recommend removing your jewelry during harsh activities and storing it in a dry place when not in use to keep it looking its best.
Gold + Silver Plated
Gold-plated beads offer the look of solid gold with a layer of gold over a base metal. Like all plated jewelry, they can naturally wear over time, especially with regular exposure to everyday elements. Things like water, sweat, lotions, perfumes, and chemicals can cause the plating to fade more quickly.
To maintain their shine, remove your bracelet before showering, swimming, or exercising, and storing it in a dry place when not in use, will help extend the life and shine of your piece.
Gemstone
Genuine gemstone beads are made from real, natural stones, which means each one is unique in color and detail. Because these are true gems, they are more delicate than they may appear and can break or crack if not properly cared for, or if dropped, thrown, or stepped on. They also shouldn’t be worn in environments that could be harsh or damaging to them.
Wearing them thoughtfully and storing them safely when not in use will help preserve their natural beauty for years to come.
